Sustainable Baddie Of The Week: Sydney Ziems, Founder of Serendipitous Project

Say hello to Sydney Ziems, the founder of Serendipitous Project, a sustainable jewelry brand. Sydney tells us more about the meaning and concepts behind her brand, day-to-day as a business owner, and future pop-up plans (look out LA baddies)!

1. Tell us about yourself! Where you are from, what you do, and what your favorite body of water is!

Hello! My name is Sydney Ziems I am the founder of a sustainable jewelry brand called Serendipitous Project! I am from Virginia and I love the ocean :)

2. What would you define Serendipitous Project as?

Sustainable jewelry that combines tropical futurism and handicraft tradition!

3. Could you explain the concept of Tropical Futurism?

Tropical futurism is an aesthetic celebrating tropic culture in an innovative and new way. This is the region where my people come from and you see how influenced they are by their environment in everything.

From the clothes to the buildings, I wanted to celebrate that with my jewelry.

4. What does your day-to-day look like while running Serendipitous Project? Walk us through that a little bit.

Morning is administrative work then the afternoon is designated to order fulfillment which involves making and packaging product. I usually go to the post office and then designate some time to eat lol. Then probably do some social media stuff and more emails lol.

5. What do you have planned for Serendipitous in the future? Is there anything exciting we can expect from you soon?

We will be at the Based on a Story pop-up starting June at the Row in LA! We will be featured along with some amazing brands! I really want to do some more community initiatives like a food drive event or maybe a community clean up! I am hoping to have one by the end of the year :)
